Today marks 81 years since Victory in Europe. On 8th May 1945, Prime Minister, Winston Churchill made an announcement that war in Europe had come to an end following Germany's surrender the day before.

A recent donation from the niece of Signalman Melvin McFee included this rare Message Form, setting out the surrender of German Forces in Italy in May 1945.

Phil McGiveron has been assisting with Archival work at the Museum since December. He has catalogued a large number of documents, photographs, official reports, diaries and letters. This work has been invaluable and Phil has been able to bring extensive knowledge to the work based on his 47 years’ service in the Corps. In this piece, Phil talks about his favourite exhibit at the Museum.

The crew of Artemis II are now on their way back to Earth after a lunar fly-by mission. Their incredible experience brings to mind the Corps’ own links with space exploration.

From Saturday 28th March to Saturday 11th April, kids under 16 can enjoy FREE entry with a paying adult. On 3rd, 4th and 6th April there will be a fun-filled Easter trail through the galleries - spot the themed characters along the way and don’t forget, there’s a delicious chocolate prize waiting at the end!

I have been working at the Royal Signals Museum for a week, during my time I have been working with the medal collection. I have a key interest in the Pink Panther Land Rover exhibit, this is because of the unusual nature of the colour and the importance it had when patrolling the desert.

The Museum welcomed a high number of visitors over the half term holiday. As part of their look round the galleries, many people visited the new exhibition ‘The Cold War in the Shadow of the Bomb.’

The exhibition opens to the public on Friday 13th February at 10am
