This summer, the Royal Signals Museum is thrilled to launch SUMMER OF STEM – a series of fun, free, and interactive STEM activity days for children aged 7 to 16.
Held between 1300 and 1400 hrs every Wednesday throughout August 2025, these engaging sessions aim to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and tech innovators.
Advance booking is essential – places are limited and can be reserved by telephoning the Museum at 01258 482 248.
The programme combines hands-on coding, robotics, codebreaking, morse code, and interactive demonstrations that bring Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths to life in a uniquely military setting.
With workshops tailored to different age groups, participants will explore real-world STEM applications through activities such as:
- Robot coding missions with the cutting-edge Sphero Rvr+
- Cracking codes in our Turing-inspired "Station X"
- Telegraphy and field telephones in the Wheatstone room
- Hands-on Morse code training, from transmission to decoding
Each STEM session will give children a taste of the exciting career paths in STEM and military communications.
The Royal Signals Museum’s popular STEM programme is designed to challenge, excite and educate.
Whether your child is a budding inventor, a curious coder, or simply loves robots, our SUMMER OF STEM programme is an unforgettable holiday experience.
