Support Scott Rourke’s 105-Mile Challenge in 24 Hours for the Royal Signals Charity

On 16 August, Scott Rourke, a serving Ops Sgt with 216 (Para) Signal Squadron, is taking on a monumental challenge: to run 105 miles in 24 hours — one mile for every year the Royal Corps of Signals has been in existence.

Scott joined the Army in 2004 at just 16 years old and has since served across multiple regiments within the Royal Signals, including:

  • 7th Signal Regiment
  • 3 (UK) Division Signal Regiment
  • 216 (Para) Signal Squadron
  • 18 Signal Regiment

Now back with 216 (Para) Sig Sqn, he is preparing to push himself to his absolute limits — not for personal glory, but to give back to the Corps that has shaped his life.

The Goal:

Scott is aiming to raise £1,000 for the Royal Signals Charity.  Scott believes strongly in the mission of the Charity and recognises the support it provides to this Corps Family.

The Challenge:

  • 105 miles in 24 hours
  • Representing each year of the Corps' 105-year history
  • A test of physical, mental, and emotional resilience

Scott has completed several ultra-endurance events before, including TrailWalker and other 100km races, but this is his first major effort to raise funds for a cause close to his heart.

A Team Effort:

He is receiving valuable support from his unit, with Sig Austin helping to promote the event through a dedicated social media platform, and Sig Kelsey assisting with training runs to keep the preparation on track.

How You Can Help:

Donations can be made through Scott’s official JustGiving page:
