Ed’s Challenge: Carrying the Weight for His Corps

At the Royal Signals Charity, we are continually inspired by members of our Corps family who turn personal challenges into powerful acts of support. Major Ed Cuthbertson is doing exactly that.

Ed is taking on the St David’s Day Cardiff 10K — but not in lightweight running kit. He’ll be completing the full 10 kilometres in boots and uniform, carrying a 15kg bergen on his back. This is more than a run; it’s a test of resilience, determination and pride in the Corps.

By choosing to carry that weight, Ed is symbolising the burdens that can sometimes be faced by members of our Royal Signals family — and showing that none of us should carry them alone.

Every pound raised through his page on JustGiving will directly support serving personnel, veterans and families who may need welfare assistance, financial grants or practical help during difficult times.

Ed is putting in the miles, the effort and the discomfort. If you’re able to, please stand behind him with a donation. Your support will drive him forward on race day — and help us continue supporting our Corps community long after he crosses the finish line.
