Formed in 1999, the Land Information Assurance Group (LIAG) is a British Army Reserve unit which operates at the cutting edge of cyber warfare.
Noel K Hannan was a long-serving member of the LIAG and has now written the first official history of the unit. In this talk, he will guide you from its origins and inception during a time of great technological and social change, to its deployments in the post-9/11 world and its role moving forward into the second quarter of the 21st century.
About the speaker
Noel K Hannan served as a soldier and officer in the Territorial Army and Army Reserve. After a career spanning five decades and multiple mobilisations and operational deployments, he retired in 2024. In civilian life, he is a cyber security consultant with C3IA Solutions and a widely published writer of science fiction.
