Branch History
The branch was formed in mid 1950mid-1950 and meetings were held at The Lord Nelson Inn, Stephensons Place, Chesterfield, as Chesterfield Branch Royal Signals Association.
In October 1952October 1952, a dance was held at the Hardwick Inn, Hardwick, to raise funds to purchase the branch standard and the standard was purchased at a cost of £32. The branch was invited to use the Drill Hall at Ashgate, Chesterfield in 1955 and the branch remained there until the Drill Hall closed in 1967 at which point the branch moved to Boythorpe Drill Hall, Chesterfield.
The branch moved again to the Square and Compass Inn, West Bars, Chesterfield in 1969 and remained there until 1994 when the branch moved to Haig House, Glumangate, Chesterfield HQ Royal British Legion.
Branch meetings have been held there to date except for one occasion on 3rd March 1997 when the AGM was held in The Mayor’s Parlour, Town Hall, Chesterfield after a social invitation for RSA members and their wives to a visit and attend a guided tour of the Parlour by The Mayor of Chesterfield Mr Geoff Waddoups who was at that time Hon. Secretary of the Branch.
In 1994 Certificates and 50 year badges were presented to three branch members:

Mr. L. Booth
Mr. B. Spencer
In 2003 our Chairman Mr. K Silcock was awarded his Certificate and 50 year badge by our President Mr. D Naylor who is a founder member of the branch.
