Functions and Events
The main function of the year is the Annual Dinner Dance held in April or May, which takes place at a suitable venue in Blandford. During dinner we are entertained by the Stour Valley Brass Band, many of the members are ex-members of the Corps band. After dinner there is another Band to play dance music. This is a very popular evening with about 60 – 70 members and guests attending.
We hold an annual BBQ in the grounds of Dale House this takes place on a Sunday in July or August, this is the ideal chance to bring along your family for an enjoyable afternoon with good food, a raffle and horse racing.
In January we hold an AGM which takes place on a Sunday morning and is followed by a lunch with our wives/partners at a suitable venue in the Blandford area.
We also hold other Dinner nights and Supper evenings usually in June, October and December in the Blandford area.
Are you a serving or retired soldier?
We are always on the lookout for new members. If during your service you donated a day’s pay to the RSA (which does lots of good work with ex members of the Corps) then you are entitled to become a life member of the Association and a member of our branch. Do get in touch via the Royal Signals Website or contact one of the committee members (see below).
