Coarse Angling Centenary Tour

CC100 Tour Overview

The current plan is to enter a team of 8 into the Dynamite Baits Festival at Whiteacres Fishery in May 2020.  This event sees 180 anglers compete over 5 days.  There will be international level anglers and most civilian anglers will be sponsored.  It is the highest level of match angling and the development the Corps Team will receive is unmeasurable. The match runs over 5 days, there is a formal prize giving event on the final day which any sponsor would be more than welcome to attend. The event receives huge social media coverage on a variety of Facebook match angling pages, these pages have several thousand followers.

Sport Overview

Coarse Angling has been a recognised Army and Corps sport for xxx years.  The Corps regularly has 40 anglers at the annual Corps Championships, this is a mixture of serving and retired anglers.  The beauty of our sport is our retired community still engage and regularly attend matches. The Corps Team won the Inter Corps for two year in a row (2015/2016) and are working hard to retain it in 2020. For many years the Royal Signals has made up the majority of the Army Squad, there are currently 6 anglers in the 20-person squad.

Recent Sporting Success

The Corps currently have 6 anglers representing Team Army, this is higher than any other cap badge. Sgt Welsby is the current Army HQ Individual Champion; Sgt Cullip is the current Group 4 Champion; WO2 (SSM) Dale (Picture left) was runner up in a 180 peg Fishomania Qualifier earlier this year, he missed out on qualifying for the final by 11 ounces.
