“I joined the Association whilst in Edinburgh through George Brew. I was in Changi and Seletar 1965-68. I now live in Canada. Looking through your reunions I know the names Trevor Broadley and Brian Tewkesbury and of course some of those who have sadly passed away. Unfortunately I did not maintain my membership I still do a bit of “security consulting”, pocket money since BREXIT, which we voted for!!!, knocked the exchange rate down a bit. But we love it here. My wife has had a bout of cancer but is doing great, the treatment here was first class and quick. It is an awful admission but it is only later in life you remember the good old days and guys you served with. Then you have problems remembering their names. My wife and I are going to Singapore in February as she is in remission and she has always wanted to go to the Raffles Hotel for a Singapore gin sling 50 years on it has certainly changed. I am not on Facebook so contact can be difficult, hopefully the Philpott’s of this world will remember me. Have a great new Year, and again thank you for your prompt reply. Haven’t used Nobby for years but it does bring back good memories.”
My Reply: Nice to hear from you Nobby. Now what happened to the others in those photos. Pete Obsborne, Bob Hawkins and Bob Townsend?
